| Q: | | Why is Equimax different to other wormers? |
| A: | | Equimax contains not one, but two anthelmintic compounds, ivermectin and praziquantel.
Ivermectin is highly effective against roundworms and bots.
Praziquantel is highly effective against tapeworms. |
| Q: | | What worms does a single standard dose of Equimax treat? |
| A: | | Due to the combination of anthelmintics, Equimax is effective against all major nematodes (including many immature stages), 3 species of tapeworms and oral and gastric stages of bots. |

| Q: | | Does Equimax treat the encysted stages of the small redworm? |
| A: | | Equimax does treat the lumen dwelling immature stages of the small redworm. However it does not treat the encysted stages that may be present in the gut mucosa over the winter. If horses have been wormed regularly over the spring and summer, then there should not be a significantly high level of larvae present to encyst over the winter. However if a horses worming history is not known or is questionable then a larvicidal treatment should be given over the winter before the spring dose of Equimax. |
